SEO TEST 1 SEO TEST 2 SEO TEST 3 One of the recurring topics in SEO discussions regarding ranking factors is the possibility that the CTR in Serp influences positioning . Five years ago now, Andrea Scarpetta and (the late) Cesarino Morellato had carried out a test to demonstrate that the CTR influenced the ranking. From their test, it turned out that there was a "certain influence" between clicks and positioning, but with some "reservations". I invite you to read their test on Giorgio Tave's blog at this link . Five years have passed since then and either due to my desire to test firsthand everything that is taken for granted and not in SEO, or due to the quarantine which, forcing me to stay at home, gave me a little more free time on the PC , leaving aside the gym, I decided to try my hand at a new SEO test which, rather than supporting the thesis of the influence of CTR on ranking, would like to answer a specific question: Does it make sense to buy organic clicks to change our website rankings, and if so, is it more or less cost-effective than buying links? I then carried out three different tests, sending a different amount of clicks for each test.
In particular, the object of the SEO test were web pages with different Venezuela Phone Number variables: A page ( blog article ) that in the past, for a specific keyword, had already positioned itself in the Top 3 of Google search results; A page ( blog post ) that has never been ranked in the Top 20 for that keyword and has never received organic traffic; A page ( homepage ) that has never been positioned in the Top 30 for the chosen keyword, but which, for the same, receives clicks from Google Ads campaigns . Clicks were also characterized by different variables: Different amount of clicks for each test. Different geographical origin (for 1 test out of 3). In this case we mean the possibility of receiving clicks from Italy or from all over the world. In fact, there is a theory, without much scientific evidence, that clicks on a SERP by users geolocated in a specific country help to position themselves for the search engine of the country of reference. In particular, we are faced with: 2 informative keywords, linked to "trends"; 1 transactional and at the same time local keyword. seo test: the chosen keywords To run the test, I used Serpclix , an online click-buy service. A note should be made on the nature of the clicks. The clicks sent are completely real and not made by bots . In fact, the tool allows you to both buy clicks and become clickers, i.e. to monetize by clicking, organically, on buyers' pages, for specific keywords. Once you click, the tool asks you to stay on the page for at least 60 seconds . In this way, the "purchased" click tries, as far as possible, to simulate the real human behavior of using Google. how SEO testing works on positioning using purchased clicks Furthermore, each user can only click on a particular site once. To make sure this was true, I also signed up as a clicker, shortly after being offered my own site to click on.
