Every now and then some author writes to me privately worried that a publisher might steal his work and publish it under someone else's name. To tell the truth, I've never heard of such cases. I can understand a time when a manuscript was sent by post - a manuscript in the true sense of the word, that is, written by hand, not typewritten, of which no copies existed. But today can we be worried that a publishing house will steal the work we send? Don't send manuscripts to tiny publishing houses, perhaps with crude websites, and look for detailed information on those publishers.
The lack of reviews I was lucky with the reviews , even if I received few. My blogging essay came out on August 27, 2015, but I announced it in the blog on September 8, and the first review came on the 16th, 8 days later. But if there are no reviews on Amazon or elsewhere, what does that mean? That the book was not announced by the author (possible?) Which the author Special Data announced on the blog which has 10 visits a month Or on some social media where he has an almost non-existent following That the publishing house didn't promote it How soon can I expect a review ? And after how long is it okay to worry about the lack of reviews ? Nobody can answer this question. The author, however, can examine his conscience and understand if there was even the slightest fault on his part.
If the author's blog has very few visits per month, is it the author's fault? In a certain way, yes. We talked about the importance of the author platform , in today's world. Many people don't like this - and I don't like it very much either - but today it works like this. Today everyone, or almost everyone, wants to publish, so it is better to make yourself known before a possible publication. The negative reviews Let's start with an example. Stephen King's latest book, If It Bleeds, a collection of long stories, has just been released .
