We tend to share everything we write on as many social networks as possible. We are satisfied with the numbers that appear on the various social buttons, because the higher they are, the more people we have reached. More people read our article, our story. Nothing could be further from the truth. Most people stop at the title. They share, but they don't read. As writers, as bloggers, we don't need these numbers. We need reactions. Of feedback. Of comments. We need to hear that what we have written is moving, disturbing, and needs to be rewritten.
That's what matters. Having some good ideas as a writer every now and then is a good thing, but having a certain degree of critical clarity on your own production – not the full-throttle fervor of the first draft, but not even the insatiable perfectionism of the creative block – is another pair of sleeves.
In the end, I came out with a "fistful of colors" that unites all my writing, but it was equally difficult to find terms, words into which to pigeonhole those colors. I have done my best.
